The judge placed a publication ban on the identities of the two complainants.Article contentRCMP announced the charges against Langille on June 13, saying he was arrested May 30 and released on conditions.Article contentColchester County RCMP had received a report last October of historical sexual assaults that occurred when the person was a youth. During the investigation, a second alleged victim was identified.Article contentPolice said the offences occurred between 1970 and 1976, when the complainants were scouts and attended weekly meetings at Valley Baptist Church. Langille was their scoutmaster.Article contentLangille’s May 30 undertaking to police required him to notify them of any change in his address, attend court as directed and not have contact with anyone under the age of 18 unless an adult is present.Article contentArticle contentRCMP said the investigation is continuing, and police believe there may be additional victims.Article contentAnyone who was a victim or has information about these incidents is asked to contact Colchester County RCMP at 902-893-6820 or submit an anonymous tip to Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers.Article content“Sexual offences have a devastating and lifelong impact on victims and can cause intense feelings of stress, shame and fear,” an RCMP news release said. “There is no ‘time limit’ on these types of offences, and even if a significant number of years have passed, RCMP investigators will seek justice for any victims who come forward.Article content“We are here to help, and we encourage anyone affected to report the incident to police.
