Photo by Ryan TaplinYes. Due to the area I live in, I have to vote Liberal but I’d prefer to vote NDP. It’s more of a strategy because I want more votes in red rather than in blue, so that’s how I had to lean into my voting.Did anything during the campaign change your mind?It honestly just confirmed everything for me, the way that everybody was leaning, and the way that people were putting their points and directed toward common things like (plastic) straws (but) what is beneficial for people who are low (income)? It just woke me up to the fact people do not care.Stephen Thorne, 54, DartmouthHave you decided which way you’re voting?Yes. Liberal.Did anything during the campaign change your mind? Not really. It’s a family thing, mostly. I don’t really know enough about the people in the ridings. I just go for who I think is going to be a better prime minister.Article contentFrances Elliott, 59, FairviewHave you decided who you’re voting for?I have. Pierre Poilievre. And so has anything during the campaign changed your mind?Absolutely. I feel that he’s more for the people than for the rich people, the working and middle class. Hopefully, he’ll help our economy come back to normal, that would be very nice. And the crime, the crime needs to be nipped in the bud. It’s too much.Walter Conrad, 60, Herring CoveHave you decided who you’re going to vote for?Yes, I did.Do you care to share that?I’m voting NDP.Has anything during the campaign changed your mind? No, not really. I think the Liberals are probably going to win but … I vote for someone who’s going to do well in my district, so that’s what I kind of look for. I don’t know them well but I hear a lot about Lisa (Roberts), she sounds pretty good, so I decided to go that way.Michael Min, 73, HalifaxHave you decided which way you’re voting?Sort of. I’ve always been Liberal but this time – I’m socialist – so NDP would be heard, I may go for NDP. I’m juggling between Liberal and NDP.Did anything during the campaign change your mind?It could.Article contentRead More What’s in the Conservative platform for Atlantic Canadians What the federal Liberal platform means for Atlantic Canadians Article content
