Here’s what’s open and closed in and around Ottawa.The following details apply only to Labour Day Monday, except when otherwise specified. Shopping and attractionsGrocery storesMost grocery stores in the city will be closed Monday, but some including the Metro on Rideau and Bank streets, Whole Foods at Lansdowne Park, Farm Boy at Rideau Centre, and the Loblaws on Isabella and Rideau streets will remain open.AlcoholThe following Beer Stores in Ottawa will be open between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.: 515 Somerset St. W. 548 Montreal Rd. 1984 Baseline Rd. 2276 Tenth Line Rd. 499 Terry Fox Dr. LCBO locations will be closed. Alcohol may be available at rural LCBO convenience outlets and at participating grocery stores that are open Monday.Several Beer Store locations will remain open in Ottawa for Labour Day, but LCBO locations will close. Check individual stores for holiday hours.MallsBayshore, Place d’Orléans and St. Laurent malls will be closed. (Gabrielle Huston/CBC)Municipal servicesGreen bin, recycling and garbage collection There will be no curbside green bin, recycling, garbage or bulky item collection. Pickup will resume on Tuesday and be delayed by one day for the rest of the week. Multi-residential garbage will be collected on the regular day but multi-residential collection for recycling, bulky items and green bins will be delayed by a day for the rest of the week.  The Trail Waste Facility Landfill will be open between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. LibrariesAll Ottawa Public Library branches will be closed.Municipal child careAll municipal child-care centres will be closed. Recreation Some pools and fitness centres will be open on modified schedules. The city recommends checking the facility’s page for details.  Splash pads are open until Sept. 14 (though they are weather dependent) and some outdoor pools will be open. Hours are available on the city’s website. Wading pools have closed for the season.  City beaches are no longer supervised by lifeguards, but washrooms at Mooney’s Britannia and Petrie Island will remain open until Sept. 1.  The National Capital Commission’s River House swimming area will be open and Monday is the last day of the summer for NCC beaches. Kids jump into the Ottawa River at the NCC River Houseon the first weekend of its reopening July 30, 2023. It will remain open for Labour Day. The Site mobile van will operate from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The Sexual Health Clinic and satellite clinics will be closed. Dental clinics will be closed. Parenting-In-Ottawa drop-ins will be closed. The immunization program telephone line will be closed.  Health811 will be open.  Other services The city’s 311 contact centre will be open for urgent matters. ServiceOttawa’s client service centres, provincial offences and Administrative Penalty System (APS) counters and phone lines will be closed. The Business Licensing Centre and City of Ottawa Spay and Neuter Clinic will be closed.  The City of Ottawa Archives and Gallery 112 at the James Bartleman Centre will be closed through the weekend and Labour Day.  City hall and the Provincial Offences Court will be closed. Arts Court, Nepean Creative Arts Centre, Nepean Visual Arts Centre, city-operated museums, Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe, Ben Franklin Place, and Shenkman Arts Centre will be closed. All four Employment and Social Services offices will be closed. Getting aroundParkingAll City of Ottawa parking regulations and restrictions apply.Passengers walk along the platform at the Mooney’s Bay station on Ottawa’s Line 2, which will run on a Sunday schedule for Labour Day. O-Train Line 1: 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. O-Train Line 2 and 4: 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. There will be special service during the weekend and Labour Day on certain routes to summer destinations: Route 125 to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. Route 139 to Petrie Island. Route 8 to the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum. Route 301 between Richmond and Carlingwood will not run. OC Transpo’s Rideau Centre customer service centre will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The OC Transpo lost and found at St-Laurent Station will be closed. Para Transpo regular bookings will be automatically cancelled. Riders can book trips through My Para Transpo or by calling 613-560-5000. The text 57272 service will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. The taxi coupon line will be closed.
