Article contentWhile some incumbents have yet to state their desire for re-election – that’s likely because nominations haven’t happened in their respective districts yet – there are a handful who have put their name back on the ballot. They include Premier John Hogan (Windsor Lake), Lisa Dempster (Cartwright-L’Anse au Clair) and Pam Parsons (Harbour Grace-Port de Grave), amongst others. Article contentMeanwhile, new ones like the returning Ken McDonald (Conception Bay South) and Gemma Hickey (St. John’s Centre) are sure to provide the party with some firepower. Article contentArticle contentThe Liberals are on their back foot a little heading into the anticipated election call with Andrew Parsons (Burgeo-La Poile), Andrew Furey (Humber-Gros Morne), Siobhan Coady (St. John’s West), John Haggie (Gander), Scott Reid (St. George’s-Humber), Steve Crocker (Carbonear-Trinity-Bay de Verde), Percy Trimper (Lake Melville) and John Abbott (St. John’s East-Quidi Vidi) all not seeking re-election. Article contentHowever, according to a release from Hogan, the departure of these veteran MHAs brings with it opportunity for new voices and ideas.
