(Darren Bernhardt/CBC)Crews are out plowing Winnipeg streets as an overnight snowfall blanketed the city and continues to fall.The work will follow the street priority system before moving on to sidewalks and other pathways, says a news release from the city.The snow is expected to stop falling around noon, Environment Canada forecast.About four to six centimetres have fallen so far.The city is also sending a reminder that the annual winter route parking ban is in effect, prohibiting parking between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. on streets designated as winter routes.Vehicles in violation may be ticketed and towed. There are no residential parking bans in place yet, but people can sign up to receive notifications about them and any upcoming snow operations by checking the city’s website or downloading the Know Your Zone app.The app uses your device’s GPS and an interactive mapping feature to provide information.People can also sign up for push notifications through the app to get a notification when a residential parking ban is in effect for addresses saved as favourites.
