(City of Winnipeg)Winnipeggers are getting frozen out of yet another indoor swimming pool due to repairs.The main tank at Seven Oaks pool, on Adsum Drive, is closing Dec. 14 for a $3.5-million fix that is expected to last 12-14 months, the city said in a news release on Monday.This work involves concrete and structural repairs, waterproofing and tile replacement.The kiddie pool and splash pad will remain open during renovations, except for a six-week period. The dates for that closure have not yet been determined.In its news release, the city said people can find alternate indoor swimming locations on its website.However, of the 11 sites, three others are also closed: Transcona Kinsmen Centennial pool, St. James Civic Centre pool and Bonivital.The University of Manitoba is also in the midst of planning for a pool replacement, following the closure of the Joyce Fromson pool earlier this spring due to a leak.
