(Cristian Monetta/CBC)After a number of delays, the case of a woman accused of stabbing a child on a Halifax street is finally moving ahead.Elliott Chorny, 19, is charged with attempted murder and weapons offences in relation to an attack on Feb. 23 of this year.During an appearance Tuesday in Halifax provincial court, Chorny’s lawyer, Anna Mancini, said her client wants to be tried by a justice of the Nova Scotia Supreme Court without a jury.Mancini and Crown prosecutor Steve Anstey will now appear before a Supreme Court justice later this week to discuss next steps.The six-year-old boy who suffered numerous stab wounds was initially described as being in life-threatening condition.
