(Isabel Harder/CBC)A woman in her 20s who was critically injured when she was hit by a pickup truck Monday afternoon near a crosswalk at Elgin Street and Laurier Avenue W. has died, according to Ottawa police.Ottawa paramedics said they were called to the downtown intersection around 5:45 p.m. and found a pedestrian who had sustained “multi-system trauma.”She was transported to a hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead, police said in a news release Tuesday. The truck driver was not physically injured.Police said the investigation continues.The collision happened at a major downtown intersection next to the Ottawa Courthouse and Confederation Park.With files from Jodie Applewaithe
