(CBC)A woman charged in the stabbing of a child on a downtown Halifax street must wait a while longer to learn her fate.Elliott Chorny, 19, is charged with attempted murder and weapons offences in relation to an incident on Feb. 23.During a court appearance in March, Nova Scotia Provincial Court Judge Alonzo Wright ordered Chorny to undergo a 30-day psychiatric assessment, to see if she should be held criminally responsible for the attack.During a court appearance in Halifax on Friday, Chorny’s lawyer, Kelly Rowlett, said she only received the report from the psychiatrist at 5:15 p.m. Thursday. Rowlett said she didn’t have time to discuss the report with her client, who’s being held at the East Coast Forensic Hospital in Dartmouth, the only secure mental health facility in the province.Wright agreed to put the matter over until June 13.While the judge and lawyers were discussing her case, Chorny, who was appearing by video, slipped out of sight of the camera.
