Chris Fahlman, 42, is now charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of intentional discharge of a firearm while being reckless to the life or safety of others. In provincial court on Wednesday the Crown stayed four previous charges against Fahlman: manslaughter with a firearm, careless use of a firearm, carrying a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence and being in a vehicle knowing there’s a firearm inside. Fahlman appeared briefly in Regina provincial court Thursday afternoon by video. The matter is being moved to Weyburn’s jurisdiction and will be heard in provincial court there. His next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 9.He has been in custody since his Nov. 1 streetside arrest in the south end of Regina.
