Among the vendors was Mike Jack, a hot sauce salesman known for breaking over 20 Guinness World Records for various pepper-eating challenges.Article contentArticle content“It’s pretty awesome to be here,” he said.Article content Guinness World Record holder Mike Jack (right), alongside Jamie Jack (left), attended the 30th Jubilee as one of the many local vendors. The record was for the fastest time to eat 100 Carolina Reaper chilli peppers. Jack did it in 36 minutes and 38 seconds in 2023. MATTHEW BAMBRICK Matthew BambrickArticle content“Seeing all of these local bands has been very fun, and getting this chance to show off my sauces has been a delight,” he added. “I’ve broken over 20 Guinness World Records for eating peppers, which have ranged from mild ones to extremely spicy. One of my craziest records is from eating 100 Carolina Reapers, and I have turned some of these records into hot sauces. This is personally my first time being at the Jubilee, and I couldn’t be happier to be here.”Article contentThis year’s Jubilee was held as an all-ages event to better celebrate the memory of Carlton Munroe, a former executive director of The Jubilee and supporter of the arts in Pictou County. Munroe died in 2017.
