Article contentArticle contentFirst responders were called to the scene at about 7 p.m. and initially had trouble finding the crash site but information from the pilot and a witness allowed them to zero in on location. Article contentPolice shut down the westbound lane of the T.C.H. in the area to allow rescuers to safely operate in the area. Article contentOne of the men was eventually flown from the crash site in a small helicopter while the second person was able to walk out to the road though the trees. Article contentInformation on the type of aircraft that crashed was not available but Paddy’s Pond is a float plane base with several of the aircaft based there. Article contentSears said that Transportation Safety Board of Canada officials would attend the scene to investigate the incident.
