There’s no doubt about it, he’s an elite talent and he has a really bright future.”Article contentClarke considers Anello to be day-to-day and doesn’t expect him back for the remainder of rookie camp, which wraps up this weekend.Article content“I don’t think we’ll see him the rest of this camp, but we’ll definitely see him for the main camp,” said Clarke. “It was just an awkward chest-on-chest but the way he fell he kind of twisted his knee. It wasn’t a dirty hit, it was a clean check, it was just unfortunate how he got hit.”Article contentA fifth-round pick by the Eagles in 2025, Anello played last season between the NV River Rats under-16 AAA team and Williston Northampton School. He had two goals and 18 points in 27 games with the River Rats, and two goals and 15 points in 24 games with Williston Northampton.Article contentCape Breton was expected to play Halifax in their first preseason game on Friday night at Oulton-Stanish Centre in Halifax, before returning home to face the Mooseheads on Saturday at 7 p.m., at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre.Article contentRookie camp will wrap up on Sunday afternoon with a three-on-three intrasquad game at 1 p.m., at Centre 200.
