RCMP Traffic Services West, St. George’s Fire Department, the provincial Department of Highways and Emergency Medical Services personnel also responded to the scene.Article contentArticle contentArticle contentAn 80-year-old American woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second occupant of her vehicle — a 79-year-old man — was transported to hospital in Corner Brook for treatment of serious injuries.Article contentThe driver of the other vehicle was also transported to hospital for treatment of injuries that are believed to be minor in nature.Article contentA Collision Reconstructionist with RCMP Traffic Services attended to support the investigation, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been engaged.
